Eleanor Allen,

Eleanor Allen brings more than 20 years of experience in water and sanitation to Water For People, joining as Chief Executive Officer in summer 2015. Previously she was the Global Director of Water for ARCADIS, where she managed a water engineering consultancy. She previously spent 16 years in various positions at CH2M, including managing Latin America Water, which included water and wastewater projects in Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Mexico, Puerto Rico. She began her career as a water and sanitation Peace Corps volunteer in the Dominican Republic. She has lived and worked over half her professional career in Latin America. Ms. Allen received an MS degree in environmental engineering from the University of California at Berkeley and a BS in civil engineering and environmental studies from Tufts University. She is a registered professional civil engineer in California, Washington, and Puerto Rico (lapsed), a Board Certified Civil Engineer, speaks four languages (English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Dutch), and is a board member for US-Brazil Connect.
