The MWA protects the information you provide when donating on the foundation’s website. Your information is stored in a secure location and protected by security procedures. Sphere has a highly redundant, robust and scalable network infrastructure. All connections are fully meshed and designed for maximum availability and fault tolerance. The architecture consists of banks of Web servers, configured with IIS 6 running on Windows. The Web server load is distributed by Citrix NetScaler load balancers. The Web servers are IBM with multiple dual core processors. The database load is distributed over logical and physical instances of MS SQL 2005 running on Windows 2003 64 bit Operating System. The database servers are either four way or eight way IBM servers. All critical systems are fully backed by vendor support agreements and rapid replacement contracts.  We maintain a standby disaster recovery site. In the event of a catastrophic site failure, there will be disruption until we activate the standby site. As described above, we have a lot of redundancy in our primary site which greatly reduces the risk of a site switch over.
